Ninja Warrior

I have been involved in athletics my entire life. In High School I excelled in football, basketball and baseball. I went to East Texas Baptist University to continue my athletic career, but instead, felt the call to ministry. I began youth ministry my freshman year of college and realized that I should use my athletic gifts as a way to connect with students and share the Gospel. After graduation I was searching for a new athletic outlet. My students encouraged me to try out for American Ninja Warrior.  When I took the stage I felt like I was on top of the world and ready to “beat that wall.” Unfortunately my season quickly ended with a log to the face and a splash in the pool. I had another opportunity in season 7, but that too ended earlier than I had hoped. These experiences have truly helped me see that my failures don’t define me and that God works all things for good. Through these failures I’ve been able to be a walking, real-life example of someone who has gotten back up and kept going. God has turned what I first saw as “failure” into a ministry that has encouraged thousands of people to overcome whatever obstacles they are facing in life.

Worship Leader

I've been leading worship for 12 years both around the globe and in the local Church and am beyond blessed and thrilled to do it.  My goal in this ministry is simply to point others to the glorious riches of a God who loves us, redeems us, and saves us, and allow people to respond to Him.  I believe worship is a response with the entirety of our lives to all of who God is and what He has done, and I believe a worship leader leads people to this response on and off a stage, with or without music.  While music is an obvious part of what I do, it is my hope that so much more will come from a worship ministry than great music, a great band, or even great experiences.  It's relationships and life change.  It's the hope we have in Jesus.  Without recognizing our need for Jesus, His power, grace, mercy, we cannot worship Him for who he truly is.  Music was created for this purpose, and I have a passion to see it utilized in excellence to point people to the only One who needs to be pointed to.
