Contributions to this scholarship fund may be made at any time of the year online and through the church finance office.  Please clearly indicate “GKVan Music Scholarship” on your gift.

This scholarship will be awarded annually in the spring for the following fall semester.

The portal for Glen and Kay Vanlandingham Music Scholarship for the 2017-2018 school year is closed. Please check back in the fall.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be an active member of First Baptist Church, Round Rock, Texas

  • Must be involved in music or fine arts in his/her high school and/or college

  • Must be involved within the music ministry of FBCRR

  • Must actively participate in or study music or fine arts in college

  • Must enter as a full-time student at a college or university in the fall

  • Applicants may reapply in subsequent years while a fulltime student participating in or pursuing music studies

Important Dates

  • Application Window Opens:  Thursday, March 1, 2018

  • Application Window Closes:  Monday, April 30, 2018

  • Scholarship Awarded: Sunday, May 20, 2018

Application Process

In addition to the one page application which is available in the music office or may be downloaded from www.fbcrr.org, please provide the following:

  • Cover letter addressed to the Music Studies Scholarship Committee which includes your personal statement of faith, plans for music involvement in college, and any other information you would like the committee to consider in their selection.

  • Professional résumé (including, but not limited to, music and academic honors, current grade point average, current class ranking, high school name, school/community activities, services, and recognitions)

  • All documents may be emailed to dchesser@fbcrr.org or turned into the church office attn: Denise Chesser.
