Women on Mission

Women on Mission welcomes all women to lunch at 11 a.m. on the second Monday of each month at FBCRR parlor. During our monthly mission adventure we pray for missionaries and promote mission activities at our church and around the world. We encourage women to give to missions, spread the gospel, and serve others. Eileen Dillinger is facilitator.

Mission Action: Linda Peterson and Dolores Hernandez plan service opportunities. Recently the group made and filled 15 tote bags for the graduates of Christian Women Job Corp, Austin, bought Bibles for Mexico, goats for Liberia, W. Africa, and coats for orphans in Ukraine. We made "gospel bracelets" which were used on the Baltimore Mission trip, made cookies for Berkman School teachers, and sent Valentine’s cards to church members served by Caregivers. We volunteered at Agape and the Service Center.

Mission Study leader is Evelyn Evans, supported by Sandra Carey. Programs stress women on mission and topics highlighted in Mission Mosiac magazine, a publication of national WMU (Women’s Missionary Union.)

Mission Support is led by Linda Cotton who plans innovative prayer times each month.

Weeks-of-Prayer: Hazel Dean Griffin and Trudy Lester promote our March, Sept and Dec weeks of prayer named for prominent missionaries Annie Armstrong, Mary Hill Davis and Lottie Moon.

Hospitality and Publicity: Naomi Chew, Eunice Johnston and Cathy Munk have these jobs.

Dec 1: Lottie Moon Week of Prayer, Presenter Sally Blair with a testimony about teaching in China
