Mission Trip Completed
July 9th - 15th, 2019
Our Costa Rica mission trip was one that was filled with great food and great adventure. Let me first introduce our team: Christine, Makayla & Nicholas Meads, Kathaleen & Kristin Smith, Susan Alvarez, Christina Frusha’, Madyson Smith and myself, Tim Darst. It was such a blessing to serve along side and get to know these people.
While in Costa Rica our team would wake up in the morning to an amazing breakfast which always included lots of fresh fruit. After eating we would head out to do some manual labor; digging holes for a septic tank, leveling the ground for a new school to be built and mixing, pouring and shaping concrete steps on the side of the mountain for low income houses. In the afternoons we were blessed with another wonderful homemade meal, again with lots of fresh fruit, followed by the opportunity to conduct a Vacation Bible School for the children in the city. In between the work days we had the opportunity to see Costa Rica and all its beauty. We visited the local Farmer’s Market, saw the jungle and God’s creation of vegetation and creatures (the sloths were the team favorite) and zipline through the jungle. We were also blessed with the experience to worship with the local church. This was such an amazing and captivating trip I would highly recommend to anyone looking to join in God’s kingdom work there in Costa Rica. I look forward to another opportunity to go on a mission trip with GO MISSIONS here at FBCRR.
