Discipleship Minister
Full-Time | Exempt | Supervisor: Lead Pastor
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Discipleship Minister leads and oversees FBCRR's discipleship and missions efforts, working closely with the Lead Pastor, Worship Minister, and ministry teams to develop strategies that help people grow in faith and engage in the church's outreach to our city and beyond. This role provides direct leadership to evangelistic, local missions, and adult discipleship ministries, and supervises all age group ministry staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy & Vision
• Develop and implement a comprehensive discipleship and missions strategy aligned with the church's vision and the Lead Pastor's direction
• Develop an annual calendar of activities and programs that promote discipleship, inclusivity, and intergenerational relationships
• Stay current on trends and best practices in discipleship, Christian education, and missions ministry
Staff & Volunteer Leadership
• Supervise and collaborate with age group staff to ensure coordination and integration of ministries
• Train and equip small group leaders and volunteers involved in Sunday School teaching, missions, and discipleship ministries
• Develop a leadership pipeline and conduct regular training opportunities for lay leaders
• Enlist, train, and guide people to serve God using their gifts
Congregational Care & Ministry
• Guide and direct organizational ministries including women's, men's, senior adults, young adults, prayer, Friendship International, GriefShare, DivorceCare, small groups, and outreach
• Develop and implement strategies for reaching new believers and engaging mature believers in the mission life of the church
Administration
• Develop and manage adult, student, and children's ministries budgets
• Ensure facilities are available for current education and ministry needs
• Work with church staff to ensure strategic alignment and accountability
QUALIFICATIONS
• Born-again believer committed to Southern Baptist/Texas Baptists doctrine and principles
• Be or become a member of First Baptist Church Round Rock
• Called by God to serve in church ministry with a heart to serve and evangelize
• Three or more years of experience in ministry
• Master of Arts in Religious Education / Christian Education (MARE/MACE) or equivalent
• High level of integrity

Join our team in a welcoming, service-focused role that supports the daily operations of the church while creating a positive experience for members and guests. This position serves as the first point of contact for visitors, manages front office operations, provides administrative support to multiple ministries, and helps coordinate church communications, events, and office resources.
The ideal candidate is an organized, dependable, and servant-hearted Christian with strong communication and administrative skills, a commitment to confidentiality, and a passion for serving the local church. Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred. Membership at First Baptist Church Round Rock is required.
