Welcome to First Steps Learning Center!
It is the heart of First Steps Learning Center to partner with parents as they raise their child to love and serve God. We strive to provide a safe, secure and clean environment for your child.
We believe that children at this age learn best in a warm, loving and nurturing environment. The curriculum we use is a hands-on approach to learning. Your child’s day will be filled with fun activities that will enhance their social and learning development.

Curriculum

One & Two year old classes
Use the Wee Learn curriculum. This is a learning center based curriculum which brings God into the preschooler’s everyday activities. Whether they are playing in the home living center, the art center, the nature center, reading books or hearing Bible stories, they learn about God’s love for them and the wonderful world He created.

Three year old classes
Use All Aboard the Animal Train by My Father’s world. This is a year-long hands-on learning adventure with fun and easy-to-teach Bible-based lessons. Your child will learn about 12 animals through stories, finger plays, creative play, and colorful animal cookie cutters. Along the way, they will experience spiritual growth, cognitive development, reading and math readiness, and develop a love of learning.

Four year old classes
Use the Voyage of Discovery by My Father’s world. They will gain academic readiness skills with the alphabet and numbers, enjoy read-aloud times, develop fine and large motor skills, and increase in cognitive skills. Most importantly, children learn God’s truth and are encouraged to live it in their lives.

I have been married for 13 years, living in Round Rock with my family and 1 cat, Nala. I have always LOVED babes and kids. I started babysitting at 10 years old and I knew that I wanted to grow up to be a mom and work with kids. I love spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy cleaning and organizing everything, I enjoy helping others in any way possible, I like watching movies with my family (especially Hallmark) and I have a HUGE, sweet tooth!

Besides my passion for working with children, I am a big animal lover, and we have 4 dogs, 2 cats, and a bearded dragon. I also enjoy reading, TV, movie, and serving at church here at First Baptist Round Rock. I am a big fan of Snoopy and baseball. My team being the LA Dodgers.

I attended the PATHS Program at Texas A&M University and graduated with a certification in Human Servies and Direct Support Professionalism in 2018. I now have over 6 years of experience in childcare services. My favorite food is pancakes, my favorite animal is a horse, and my favorite candy is plain simple Hershey’s.

Mrs. Dolores
Teaches: Music Class
I’m Mrs. Dolores. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Jesse, for almost 49 years. We have a daughter, Jessica. Jessica is a music therapist currently at Houston Methodist Hospital, but she received her love and music education from FBCRR. I am also a lifelong resident of Williamson County. I am looking forward to being your child’s music teacher this year at the First Steps Learning Center where I have served for the past 4 years. I love working with children in the areas of creative arts and watching them grow and express themselves particularly through music. I have worked with children for almost 45 years in the United States, Mexico, and Honduras both in the church and school settings bringing music activities to the classroom. Early childhood music education is one of my greatest passions. I am super excited and looking forward to this new school year. I will be praying that the Lord will give us all a successful year. May this year’s music program be a “sweet, sweet sound” in His ears!
