How You Can Help
The goal of this ministry is to reach the people of Round Rock and the surrounding communities with the gospel. The best way to do that is a personal connection with believers. By joining the Community Connections team, you are making those connections by engaging in conversation and loving on the people immediately around you.
One of the ways we bless our community is providing a refreshment of sugar cookies and hot chocolate for anyone enjoying the program. As a part of the refreshments team, you would be a smiling face that engages with the crowds as you hand them their treats.
One of the refreshments that we offer is hot chocolate. We aim to provide as fresh a batch of hot chocolate as possible and that requires a group of people to make hot chocolate throughout the evening.
There are many moving parts under the COTC umbrella that include anything from bathroom attendant to refreshment runner to stage reset.
We hand out upwards of 6,000 cookies during the Christmas On The Corner season.
We have 3 ways you can help in
providing these yummy treats.
1) Bake your own sugar cookies and drop them off at the church office the week of the event. Please use angel, star or circle shapes. We do this to maintain the integrity of our message. Everything at Christmas on the Corner should point to the Nativity Story.
2) Sign up under “Cookie Baking Days” to help Katie Palmer bake cookies at the church. If you can’t stand for long periods of time, you can also sign up for Ornament packing for the same times. You can find this under “Cookie Baking Days.”
3) Monetary donations for cookie and hot chocolate ingredients. It’s about $30 per 5 dozen cookies and $12 per tub of Hot Chocolate. Donations will be accepted at the church office.
